About the role
Hitachi Rail is modernising Denmark's railway signalling system to the European ETCS Level 2 standard. As an IT Network and Cybersecurity Engineer, you will support the design, configuration and integration of the Train Management System infrastructure and ensure secure, reliable network solutions.
Responsibilities
- Implement IT, network, and cybersecurity features into the system design.
- Ensure customer acceptance of the network and cybersecurity setup.
- Configure and support a Cisco-based network environment and test VPN solutions.
- Manage digital certificates and PKI integration.
- Assess and mitigate security vulnerabilities and risks.
- Apply ISO 27001/27002 compliant security configurations across the project.
- Coordinate with the maintenance security team on active issues and strategy.
- Support test, commissioning, and maintenance teams with technical troubleshooting.
- Participate in the Information Security Incident Response Team.
Requirements
- Solid experience in IT, network, and cybersecurity design or operations.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 27001/27002 security standards.
- Experience configuring and operating Layer 2/3 networks and VPNs.
- Experience managing security vulnerabilities and risks.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies and IT infrastructure.
- Ability to articulate and document technical design clearly.
- Understanding of PKI and digital certificate systems.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken).
- Experience in railway or other safety-critical systems is an advantage.
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments or IEC 62443 frameworks.
