From the multi-cultural strength of our global organisation to the sustainable and innovative ways we work to bring people together, there’s something for everyone to get stuck into. And that's where you come in.
**About the Project**
In 2012, Banedanmark—the Danish rail infrastructure authority—awarded a consortium of Hitachi and Strukton Rail the contract to modernise the signalling systems across Jutland (Western Denmark). Covering approximately 1,200 km of railway, the F‑Bane Project is transitioning Denmark’s network to the European standard ETCS Level 2 system. Hitachi has led the design and implementation of this transformation and is now moving into the maintenance phase.
**About the Role**
We are seeking a Network and Cybersecurity Engineer to join our Technical Department in Copenhagen. You will support the design, configuration and integration of Hitachi’s Train Management System (TMS) infrastructure for the ERTMS L2 signalling system. You will work closely with colleagues in Germany, local engineers and Banedanmark to implement secure and reliable IT network solutions and collaborate regularly with the maintenance team and customer stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Implement IT, network and cybersecurity features into the system design and ensure customer acceptance.
- Configure and support a Cisco‑based network environment and test VPN solutions as part of the system architecture.
- Manage and integrate digital certificates and PKI; assess and mitigate security vulnerabilities and risks; apply ISO 27001/27002‑compliant security configurations.
- Coordinate with the maintenance security team on active issues and strategy; support test, commissioning and maintenance teams with technical troubleshooting; participate in the Information Security Incident Response Team.
- Provide regular reporting to the Project Design Authority and assist in integrating IT systems into project infrastructure.
**Your Skills & Experience**
- Solid experience in IT, network and cybersecurity design or operations.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 27001/27002 security standards, Layer 2/3 networks and VPNs.
- Experience managing security vulnerabilities and risks, and familiarity with virtualization technologies and PKI/digital certificate systems.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken). Experience in safety‑critical systems, Unix/Linux and IEC 62443 is a plus.
