Your position
In your new position as Senior SCADA Engineer in the Renewables division, you will be a valuable member of the dedicated SCADA team focused on designing and installing offshore substations. Above all, your work will make a real change for the global energy sector.
The Renewables division has created one of the largest project portfolios within offshore substations in Northern Europe, Our Offshore Wind markets include Europe, Taiwan and USA, which means that you can expect to be involved in projects worldwide.
Your Tasks & Responsibilities
As a senior engineer in the SCADA team you will join a team of highly specialised and motivated employees, working with SCADA, protection and control systems for offshore substations.
Your tasks will include, but will not be limited to:
- Lead and ensure timely completion of substation SCADA project tasks within budget, meeting all industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Direct and oversee the design and engineering of SCADA and Control Systems, taking ownership of critical project deliverables.
- Provide technical guidance and support in designing Protection and Auxiliary systems, ensuring full alignment with technical and project requirements.
- Manage and coordinate interfaces to/from other systems, taking on complex technical management responsibilities and troubleshooting escalated issues.
- Review, approve, and create detailed design, construction, and project documentation, ensuring precision and compliance with project standards.
- Facilitate high-level workshops and alignment meetings with both internal teams and external partners to drive project alignment.
- Lead factory and site acceptance tests, offering on-site technical leadership and decision-making in real-time.
- Support and advise on project budgeting and timeline management to ensure optimal efficiency and project success.
- Mentor junior engineers within the SCADA team, fostering skill development and knowledge transfer across the team.
Your Profile & Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is passionate about SCADA systems and eager to make a meaningful impact in renewable energy. You have extensive practical experience with SCADA solutions and installations, including hands-on expertise in integrating systems and getting them fully operational on construction or commissioning sites, ideally within offshore substations or similar high-stakes environments.
To succeed in this position, we imagine that you have:
- Proven project management skills and the ability to guide project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation effectively.
- A strong problem-solving and troubleshooting mindset, with proven experience addressing complex system integration challenges in SCADA environments.
- Advanced expertise in integrating diverse SCADA systems and functionalities, with a thorough understanding of interoperability and optimization.
- In-depth knowledge of SCADA systems and communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, DNP, IEC 61850, IEC104), with practical experience in configuring and customizing these protocols.
- Comprehensive knowledge of OT Security, including standards like IEC62443, NERC CIP, or similar frameworks, along with practical experience implementing security measures in industrial control systems.
- An educational background in electrical engineering, automation, control, or telecommunications/network engineering, preferably with additional certifications or specialized training in SCADA or control systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with experience working on international projects and collaborating across multicultural teams.
